The story about a journey towards dream chasing arises in a very far place - Sakhalin Island, the Far East of Russia, where Victoria Stepanova was born, on April 4th, 1988, in the family of military pilot Valery and feldsher Taisia Stepanov's. The only daughter came into this world as delight for her parents and started to show talents since her early years."I remember my childhood in constant contact and impression by nature, wildlife. Our family lived in military districts, located somewhere outside of big cities. We often moved from place to place - Sakhalin, Siberia, the Priamurye, Norilsk - all regions with severe climate, but mighty enigmatic landscapes and spirit. I grew up among forests, hills, wild rivers and lakes - powerful and virgin sceneries of the versatile Russian nature. Memories of those times are precious to me. There was a lot of magic in untouched scenes that awakened so much of child’s curiosity, dreaming and inspiration".Victoria’s enthusiasm in singing was noticed in early kindergarten years. Little baby was constantly improvising various melodies, along with singing famous songs, trying to imitate different vocal techniques. Besides musicality little Victoria showed a big keenness on what is called “storytelling” – dozens of verses, poems, prose stories occurred in notebooks, some of them turning into songs or improvised performances."That’s very true – I was a big story-teller. As well as an extremely curious child :) It happened so, that at the times when all kids start some additional studies, there was no practical possibility to do music studies for me. So I went to art school. This is how I immersed into one more world of incredible – the world of imagery. Later on I made a degree in Moscow Lomonosov State University for Foreign Languages & Regional Studies, which was a final chord of my humanitarian education. Starting carrier in the field of international affairs, I got a marvelous chance to travel around the world. To see how big the world is, to learn something new - was another miracle to become true. The spirit of a traveler, a wanderer - is a leitmotif in my creativity".All the way long, besides professional activities, Victoria is continuing doing music. There was a lot of collaboration with music bands, experiments with style. For several years Victoria has been performing in a rock-band, giving concerts from time to time and producing hard-rock songs. 

So it went on until the moment, when the road of a journey took a new turn… 

Symphologue & Alexander Muratovsky

“Even though for my friends and people familiar with my music works it was totally surprising after seeing me on rock stage, actually the idea of “Symphologue” occurred many years ago, which I was constantly thinking of. I’ve accumulated a lot of reflection, very personal and very special, so the array of feelings was searched to be expressed in peculiar music forms. To start creation of this solo music piece, which I called “Symphologue” - as confluence of “melody” and “story” -  I needed to find, first of all, a team of collaborators. It took many years of trying, searching and starting over again. When suddenly and – as it often happens – truly occasionally we meet with Alexander Muratovsky. A talented composer and arranger, he happened to be so much ‘on the same wave’ with my ideas and music perception, that it gave the biggest boost for my dreamy “Symphologue” realization. We started to work. Exchanged ideas, discussed and completed each other. The first song to appear was “Frozen (Sermon From Above)”. Deeply atmospheric saga about a freezing heart, very metaphoric. When the song was done, we got it very firm – we should produce new and new ones…”

In the meanwhile Victoria is giving all her efforts to recording her solo album “Symphologue”, which promises to be as experimental as deeply reflexive. The news of which will be announced later on the official website.
